I would not normally review over the door hooks, but deerhardware sent me an email asking me to and well, no one else has yet, so here is my honest review.
First off, I should point out that I just read the product description carefully and looked closely at the product. The description on the deerhardware website states that this is die-cast, but it most assuredly is NOT. It is made of stamped, brushed metal. In the case of the three hooks, each hook is a single stamped piece, shaped in the press with a rounded form, and connected to another stamped piece which appears to have been soldered to the other three. I am sure the five hook one is identical except for having five hooks. There is nothing wrong with this manufacturing process. It's sturdy enough. There are pieces of soft black double-stick foam on the backs of the hooks and on the backing plate part to prevent marking up the door (though we have numerous other, actually die-case hooks, around the house which do not have some protective foam and they have not made any marks on the doors, but the edges of the stamped metal would be far more likely to do so, I would think.
The best part about these hooks, is that the hooks themselves are covered by what appears to be soft black rubber or silicone which by it's nature sort of "grabs" onto fabric of clothing and so it doesn't fall off.
Otherwise, this product works as expected and maybe a little better than expected as the description fails to mention to the rubber (silicone?) on the hooks. That is NOT paint. it works well. No complaints from me. WHy only three stars? Well, it was not as expected, based on the description and though the rubber/silicone ends is a nice plus, these really don't work any better or worse than other hooks I have for about the same price and well, the others looks better, so three stars.
